’’I get asked about it wherever I go,’’ Arum said of a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. ’’If I’m on a plane the person next to me will ask me. I go to the restroom, and the attendant asks me.’’

Neither fighter is the same as he was five years ago, when the clamor first began for the fight. Age has taken a toll, if ever so slightly, on their reflexes and speed.

But they both have plenty left, as Pacquiao showed when he knocked Algieri down six times on his way to a decision so lopsided that they were measuring it in terms of touchdowns and field goals.

’’The man is exactly what he was billed as,’’ Algieri said after Pacquiao cut short his Rocky story in front of Sylvester Stallone himself. ’’He’s a great champion and one of the great fighters of his era.’’

Algieri’s game plan was to weather the storm early against Pacquiao and try to win the fight late, but he did not implement it well. Algieri ran most of the fight and was unwilling to exchange with Pacquiao, and was out of the bout before it reached the fourth round.

It was a signature win for Pacquiao, one he needed badly. His own plan was to show he still has power after going five years without a knockout and he kept putting Algieri down even if he could not finally put him away.Welcome to m-shoesbox sports shoes online store

After accidentally shooting off his own finger Tuesday while cleaning his gun, Jose Canseco was well enough Wednesday to return to Twitter. Canseco, the former MLB slugger whose post-baseball life has been something of a sideshow, tweeted a photo of himself, his huge cast and his fiancée, Leila Knight.

Canseco, 50, reiterated what TMZ Sports reported after the shooting — he’s hoping to keep his middle finger after surgeons in Las Vegas worked to reattach it Tuesday night.

While Canseco hasn’t played in MLB since 2011, he’s still made use of his hands on a baseball field in recent years. He went on a summer tour a couple months back, trying to break the record for the longest baseball and softball home runs. Last year, he spent a week as a player/coach for the United Baseball League team in Fort Worth.
The official county autopsy and the private autopsies conducted on behalf of the families do not disagree on the number or wounds or their location. For example, both reports say that a shot to the top of Brown’s head was likely fatal, but witnesses do not agree on whether he charging toward Wilson or was already on his way to the ground when he was hit.

This interpretation of the report seems to coincide with other reports about Wilson’s statements to investigators and his testimony before the grand jury, which was recounted in The New York Times last Friday. The feeling among many observers of the case, including The Washington Post’s Wesley Lowery, and The Root’s Eric Guster, is that these recent leaks are meant to prime the public for an inevitable result: a grand jury investigation that ends with no charges being filed against Wilson.

Police officers are generally given the right to respond with lethal force once they feel their life is in danger, and the Times added the federal officials think a civil rights charge against Wilson is also unlikely, given the high standards needed to file one. No matter the reason, the leaks are bound to raise tension in Ferguson once again, which continues to see protests more than 70 days since Brown’s shooting.

It’s really exciting

2014年10月17日
It’s really exciting. There’s a lot of young blood in that city: chefs like Jamie Bissonnette and Michael Scelfo and Tiffani Faison and Joanne Chang and Matthew Godet and Tony Maws… There’s this young, smart energy. They’re really serious cooks with incredible resumés who have worked with pros like Ming Tsai and Barbara Lynch and Ken Oringer.

Boston’s really diverse, as well. At Oleana, I had some of the best Lebanese food I’ve ever had, there’s great Spanish food at Toro, and there are a lot of other great ethnic restaurants there: good dumplings, great Chinese, great Korean food… It’s a really manageable city, so you can walk everywhere and eat well.Sweet Cheeks, which is Tiffani Faison’s barbecue restaurant. I celebrated my birthday in Boston that first week and had all the food catered by her. One of my favorite Japanese restaurants of all time, O Ya, is in Boston. Alden and Harlow: Michael Scelfo is an amazing chef, and it’s such a great new restaurant with creative, fun, casual, comfortable, delicious food. And I ate breakfast almost every morning at Flour.
Katy Perry has always seemed to be attracted to bad boys. Her latest beau, however, takes the ‘bad boy’ logo to the extremes.Perry’s new man, Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, has had multiple arrests and was court ordered to take anger management classes after a violent bar brawl, the Daily Mail reports.

The newly formed couple were first seen in public together earlier this month at Couchella’s. At the Amazing Spiderman 2 after party in New York City the couple was openly affectionate, reports People.

Diplo is the world’s highest paid DJ — he made a whopping $13 million in 2012. Perry isn’t the only singer that has called Diplo her man. Before Perry, he dated Sri Lankan of M.I.A.Diplo has been arrested for shoplifting and destruction of property. In 1999, he was arrested in Florida for second degree trespassing but the charges were eventually dropped.
Citizen complaints about pests to the 311 hotline plus online reports went from 22,300 in fiscal year 2012 to 24,586 the next year, city Comptroller Scott Stringer said Sunday."Rats are a daily, stomach-turning insult to New Yorkers — whether they’re scurrying over people’s feet on the sidewalks, invading homes where children sleep or swarming through restaurants," Stringer said.

Stringer said an audit conducted by his office found that the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene isn’t managing its pest control program effectively. The audit said health inspectors didn’t always follow their own protocols, and in 160 cases, no field inspection was conducted."Without a vigilant and timely response by the city to citizen complaints, this problem will come back to bite us again and again," he said.

The health department issued a statement saying the agency "strongly disagrees" with the audit and is taking a proactive response to exterminating pests in the city.
Boyle did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Thursday.A 42-year-old mother of three, Siddiqui was educated in the United States and has degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Brandeis University.

Siddiqui was likely unaware of the Islamic State proposal and its actions should not be held against her, Boyle said in an interview last month.Islamist militant groups have called her case an example of the worst excesses of the U.S. war on terror, citing her family’s allegation that she was raped and tortured at the U.S. military’s Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. U.S. officials have said they found no evidence of that.

At trial, Siddiqui’s legal team urged an acquittal because there was no evidence the rifle had been fired. An appeals court in 2012 affirmed her conviction and sentence, rejecting arguments that her trial was unfair.
The difference between the drugs: “An antibiotic kills the bacteria causing the infection that you’re treating, but along the way, it will also kill some of the normal bacteria in your system,” explained Bailey. “A narrow-spectrum antibiotic kills a smaller number of bacteria. So you should take the narrowest-spectrum antibiotic that does that job you need it to do.” Broad-spectrum antibiotics are used only when children are seriously ill, so there’s usually little time for trial and error with these meds, particularly when the first-line antibiotic didn’t eliminate the infection.

So did the bacteria-fighting meds lower the kids’ defenses against flab?

The short answer: Yes. The more antibiotics a child took early in life, the more likely he or she was to be obese later on. (This was particularly true among children who had taken the drugs four or more times before age 2.) However, this held true only for overall or broad-spectrum antibiotic use; there was no such link between narrow-spectrum antibiotics and childhood obesity.
Records show the dog arrived at the shelter on Aug. 19 after being dropped off by its owner, who Blankenship said was moving and could no longer care for it. The animal was cut and bloody after being struck by a car and a pad on its left rear foot was missing.

Blankenship tried to find a rescue home through social media, but no one stepped up to adopt. So the dog’s scheduled date with death arrived on Sept. 10.Snell said the vet arrived late that afternoon to euthanize animals due to be put to sleep. Snell said she accompanied the veterinarian and witnessed the entire procedure. The dog moved a bit when injected, almost as if fighting the drug before it quieted and was still, Snell said. The animal was left for dead inside a pen, its body to be removed later. But when Snell arrived for work the next morning, she saw the dog standing in an outdoor pen linked to the interior kennel. The dog had walked out and helped himself to some water.
Aside from one little slip of the hand, Lea and Artem’s choreography went off like clockwork. Julianne praised Lea’s versatility, while Bruno raved that the "Power of Lea" was "on splendid display." Only Carrie Ann wasn’t a fan, telling Lea, "Unfortunately, I think this was not your best dance at all. You were very uncertain on your feet."

Michael and Emma brought Robin Hood and Maid Marion to life with a Robin Hood-themed dance to "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You." The judges weren’t sold on his samba in week two, but Michael promised he’d "win ’em over" with his waltz in week three. He did indeed win ’em over -- and then some. Julianne gushed that it was his "best dance ever," while Bruno said that his hard work was paying off. Added Carrie Ann: "I was mesmerized."Len’s advice to Antonio last week was to not "overthink" the routines, so Cheryl made it her mission to force him to "let go" and have fun with their routine, a foxtrot to "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" from Guardians of the Galaxy. Unfortunately, whatever she did only semi-worked. Though Carrie Ann said he looked good, she also noted that he was "stiff in places that are a little strange."

In spite of her own opinion that the dance was a little boring, Us Weekly’s DWTS photo blogger wowed the judges with her Viennese waltz to the "Married Life" theme song from Disney-Pixar’s Up. Carrie Ann said it was her "favorite dance" so far, while Kevin raved that it was "seamless." Bruno added that he was "totally and utterly charmed."
College towns proved to be resilient during the housing downturn, and the appeal is still showing few signs of cooling off. As student loan debt takes a bite out of their monthly incomes and makes it harder for millennials to save for a down payment, markets that are home to a major university are increasingly desirable.

These days, universities draw not just students and professors, but also retirees looking to stay actively engaged. Terry and David Miyamoto bought a home in Charlottesville near the University of Virginia. "The Lifelong Learning Institute was important to us, and we’ve already taken one class there and registered for three more for next semester," David said.First-rate medical facilities, college sports and cultural events are also big draws. "This bodes well for strong housing demand and peak prices in these communities," said real estate broker Dolly Lenz.

Up until this week, fans of the X-Men series have been largely left in the dark about the next installment in the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse. With director Bryan Singer now officially on board to helm the highly anticipated flick, new plot details are finally being released—including confirmation on three major characters that will be resurfacing in the upcoming movie.

Earlier this month, Deadline confirmed that Fox had officially brought Singer back to direct his fourth installment in the X-men series, despite the legal problems he’s been battling over the past year. Having kicked off the franchise with the very first two films and then returned to helm this year’s hugely successful Days of Future Past, Singer’s participation in the project has been widely assumed since the beginning. He announced the title of the upcoming movie, as well as its release date, back in December and even teased the script earlier this summer. But a deal wasn’t officially signed until September, after the sexual abuse accusation charges brought against Singer in a high-profile scandal were officially dropped.

With Singer in place, the public is once again shifting focus to the upcoming movie’s potential plot line. Many viewers are still confused about what the future of the franchise will entail post-Singer’s Days of Future Past. The flick earned more than any other X-Men movie in history, but it also left many fans scratching their heads over where exactly things stand after so much time-hopping. Though we’ve still only heard minimal details about X-Men: Apocalypse’s storyline, it was recently reveled that the movie will feature the return of three favorite heroes.
The Airbus Group, the European aerospace and defense giant, said on Tuesday that it intended to sell several defense and space businesses as it streamlines that division.

The move follows a review of business lines after Airbus announced a restructuring of the division last year, when it combined its Astrium, Airbus Military and Cassidian entities under one roof.Within its defense and space division, Airbus said that it would focus on satellites, launchers, military aircraft and missile systems because it considers those as areas of future growth.

As part of its plans, the company will sell a business that includes professional mobile radio and commercial satellite communication, and it will look to sell its stake in Atlas Elektronik, a maker of weapons and other systems for naval vessels.

“Given the tight budgetary situation in our home countries and increasing competition on global markets, the portfolio review is an essential element to further develop our defense and space business and to ensure its competitiveness,” Bernhard Gerwert, the chief executive of Airbus Defense and Space, said in a news release. “We have identified those segments where this is an achievable target and those where we should explore alternative options.”
International Business Machines Corp is rolling out a cognitive tool powered by its Watson supercomputer that uses companies’ internal data to answer questions about performance and efficiency, and predict outcomes.

IBM said the tool - the latest in a series of Watson products unveiled by IBM - will make more widely available data analytics capabilities long reserved for research scientists. The move is part of IBM’s effort to shift resources away from a slumping hardware sector into more profitable fields like cloud computing and analytics. In August, IBM launched Watson Discovery advisor, a tool scientists can use to identify patterns in data. In July, engine maker Pratt and Whitney said it would use IBM’s data analytics to predict aircraft engine trouble.

Watson Analytics clients can upload their business’ data and ask the tool personalized questions like, "Who are my most profitable customers?"Watson, which uses artificial intelligence to quickly analyze huge amounts of data and can understand human language, may ask several follow up questions to give clients the most accurate results possible. The cloud-based tool will then analyze various data sets and provide answers and visualizations that predict future outcomes.
